Ive purchased a ZEX kit to run on my ZC and Im trying to purchase all the extra things make it as safe a setup as possible. Im new to this site so please dont flame me if you've answered these questions a hundred times but Im needing to know what else you guys would suggest I get to get my system going. Ive heard about a new fuel pump and I really want a in-tank version if possible, do you guys have any suggestions on brands and so forth. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Andy

walbro fuel pumps work well, the high pressure one would do it. But I don't think it a direct drop in for the early civics, you'd have to check with someone who's dun it.

I would recommend also at least a pressure guage for you kit. bottle heater to make the most of it.

With a 55 shot you'll be able to run everything stock. The only recommendation i have is to run one heat range colder on the plugs and to throw in the 65 shot orafice for fuel. Just be careful and make sure you listen to your motor. Any abnormal noises and let off your throttle ASAP. With a 55 shot though you should be fine. Make sure you set your ignition timing to 0. Or if you wanna be really safe retard it -2 degrees. A lot of people say as a general rule of thumb that for every 50 hp you add you should retard by -2 degrees. Although, ZEX has said before that it is not necessary to retard your ignition with the kit on a 55 shot. With the 75 i'd recommend running a Bosch/ENDYN modified in-tank pump, -2 degree retard, and a heat index lower with the plugs. Before shooting it would be a good idea to get a leak down test as a forwarning to anything that's faulty. Also, go easy on the juice if you have a stock clutch. I guarantee you will fry the clutch eventually if you're racing with the stocker. A decent stage2 will hold just fine. (i recommend the ClutchMasters stage 2/3 - your choice here). Well i think that pretty much covers it.

Whats up? If you want some good advise give me a call you got my #. You sould have gone with a NOS kit or a NX. They work alot better than a ZEX. But you have it so you will have to work with it. Don't get me wrong it will build some power. I know of a couple of people who are running it. You should drop one heat range in plugs for a 50 shot. I would go two steps. And retard your timing two degrees. ZEX will say you don't have to but do it. And if you go more than a 50 shot than go four degress and two steps colder plugs. Its to be safe. I ran a 70-80 shot with two steps colder plugs and timing retarded four degrees. No problems. If you have more ?'s call me. Good luck! GOT NOS

Thanks alot guys for your responses and yes Mr Rogers it is I, Andy, and yes I hope to be in the "Big Time" sometime soon. And Got Nos yes I know I should have gone the NOS os NX way but this is still new to me so I thought Id go as safe as possible for now then eventually go all out once I feel alittle bit more comfortable with the whole Nos thing. Thats kinda the reason I went the ZC route instead of going B16a, but now after doing the swap a B16a should be pud and hopefully I'll get one of those next. Also I forgot to mention in my sig that I do have a ACT clutch thatv should have no problem holding on with the Nos, also the Zex kit comes with a pressure guage so I wont need that. I went and looked at the Endyn/Bosch fuel pumps and might be considering them but since Im only running a smaller setup I might just go oem for now and then upgrade once I either get a bigger Nos setup or end up going Turbo or SC. Thanks alot again guys for responding and I hope to be around this site alot more.

    Thanks,
    Andy

Everything above sounds like very good advice.

Keep an eye on that A/F gauge when you're juicing. If you stay rich, whoooaahhh!
